This information is structured, comprehensive and clear. Therefore, they reach the scene of an incident swiftly and safely and can prepare themselves for the situation awaiting them. The operation documentation and later data transfer to the admitting hospital can be performed easily and intuitively, as well.

NIDA is a powerful hardware and software solution with special modules for different operation scenarios. Due to the system’s high flexibility and customisability, a large variety of mobile applications can be created in order to improve processes. Focused on the Essentials at the Scene of the Incident

By using NIDA, paramedics no longer have to complete elaborate and time-consuming operation protocols. With NIDApad, patient data, diagnoses and measurements can be collected intuitively, quickly and easily. All data can be gathered by simply touching the screen. The protocol structure in NIDA is simple and clearly arranged. The user is supported by pick lists and simplifications, e.g. for entering the time. Moreover, customised protocols for different kinds of operation are available, such as for patient transportation, emergencies and intensive care transfers. In this way, NIDA facilitates an intelligent and convenient electronic patient care reporting (ePCR).

There are specific documentation obligations in cases of emergency operations. Patient and operation data has to be collected. All information about the patient and the performed measures must be documented. When the patient is handed over to the admitting hospital or when the operation is completed, a protocol has to be generated and signed. In this context, it is important to create a complete emergency protocol because this is a decisive basis of information for the subsequent patient care. In addition, it can be used as a piece of evidence in the event of liability.

In contrast to an emergency or patient transport, the requirements for the documentation of an intensive care transport are very specific. Patient information, such as diagnoses, current respiratory and haemodynamic situation and medication, has to be monitored during the transport and communicated from the discharging to the admitting hospital. Moreover, it is decisive whether the mobile intensive care unit has to consider anything specific for the transportation of a patient and which medical devices are necessary.

medDV developed NIDAmobile for these specific circumstances. Besides the additionally necessary scores, the focus is on the documentation of the patient’s condition when taking him over from the discharging hospital and during the transportation.

Running Patient Transportation Efficiently and Conveniently

We have developed a specific module in NIDAmobile for carrying out and invoicing patient transports. Unlike cases of emergencies and intensive care transports, the medical documentation plays a minor role in this context.

This NIDA module is a streamlined and cost-effective solution. It supports the easy and rapid collection of all data that is relevant for accounting and billing.



Being Informed and Acting Securely

In the event of a mass casualty incident (MCI), mobile rescue teams can quickly reach their limits. NIDA supports ambulances on the site of the incident with a special documentation system. In the case of an MCI, the complete documentation is not possible immediately. NIDAmci offers a fast entry module in order to simplify this phase of an operation.

With only one click, the user can convert his familiar surface. He is now able to work on his tasks with his familiar input elements even in MCI surroundings. A flexible system, consisting of mobile units, servers and data transmission methods, ensures that all collected data is available where it is needed. To this end, NIDAmci uses the data transfer from pad to pad. It is also directly available in the incident command system. The pre-registration function facilitates patient transfer to the admitting hospital. Every NIDA user can view and complement the documentation on a patient. This significantly supports the organisation and execution of an operation.

Due to its high flexibility, the system can easily be adapted to different operation scenarios. For example, it might be reasonable to use NIDAmci for minor car accidents with only a few injured people in order to do the basic patient data collection. In this way, users can train with this solution in standard situations and gain the necessary safety and routine for MCI operations.

Seamless Integration of Medical Devices into the Operation Documentation

NIDAmci offers a fast entry module supports the complete and easy integration of patient-specific medical device data into the operation documentation. In this context, the instrument settings of a patient (e.g. respiratory rate) as well as measured data (such as vital signs, alarms and rest ECGs) can be taken into consideration.

The paramedic can concentrate on the patient while NIDA generates all the relevant data automatically. At the same time, the application checks whether the data is complete, even in the event of temporary connection failures.

In particular, two devices are relevant for rescue services: ECG unit and respirator. Both medical devices collect decisive data for the complete operation documentation. Currently, the following medical engineering devices are integrated into NIDA:

Paramedics can use alphacheck professional NFC by iSense for the quantitative measurement of the blood sugar level in fresh capillary whole blood.

Used in combination, alphacheck professional NFC and NIDApad allow the easy measurement of the blood sugar level. The subsequent transfer of data can be handled easily and securely with a wireless connection. The measured blood sugar value can be imported into the emergency protocol by simply holding these devices next to each other. It is really that simple. At the same time, the clock time of your alphacheck professional is set.
